Heathville Medical Practice is trying to improve our appointment system and has implemented some changes from 1st Dec 2012.
We are encouraging our patients to see their usual Doctor as much as possible. This helps with the continuity of care and often leads to more satisfactory outcomes.
We will be offering routine appointments up to 6 weeks in advance and the receptionists will try and make these with your preferred Doctor, subject to availability.
The Doctors at the Practice will continue to see patients with medically urgent problems the same day, though this may not always be with the Doctor of your choice and you will need to be flexible with times.
If you find it difficult to attend the surgery in normal working hours, the practice now offers evening appointments every Thursday. They are pre-booked appointments for non-urgent problems only and need to be made at least the day before. The practice will be closed for other services during this evening session with access via a buzzer at the front door.
